Cookie policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This page explains what cookies the Medisco website uses, what they do, how long they are kept and how you can change your choice. It is separate from the privacy policy, which covers the processing of personal data in general.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website places in your browser. Some are necessary for the
site to work, others help us understand how it is used or measure campaigns. Alongside them we
also use the browser's local storage (localStorage), which works similarly and
falls under the same rules.
Categories used on this site
Strictly necessary — always active
These make the site work: displaying pages, navigation, keeping your order and remembering your cookie choice. Without them the site does not function, so they cannot be disabled. They do not identify you personally and are not used for profiling.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
medisco_ck_v1 |
localStorage, first party | Remembers which categories you accepted or rejected, so we do not ask on every visit. | Until you clear it from your browser, or until we change the categories and ask again. |
medisco-cart |
localStorage, first party | Keeps the products and quantities in your order while you move between pages. Product codes and quantities only. | Until you empty the order, complete it, or clear it from your browser. |
medisco-profile |
localStorage, first party | Remembers whether you buy as a private person or as a company, and the EU VAT number you verified, so VAT is calculated the same way on every page. | Until you change the profile or clear it from your browser. |
medisco-mod |
sessionStorage, first party | Remembers, for this visit, that prices are shown with VAT calculated by customer profile. | Until you close the browser tab. |
medisco-intro |
sessionStorage, first party | Plays the opening animation once per visit instead of on every page load. | Until you close the browser tab. |
Analytics — only with your consent
Statistics about which pages are visited and how visitors reach us. They show us what is useful and what is not.
At present the site loads no analytics script. The category exists in the banner so that any later activation happens on the basis of consent, not retroactively.
Marketing — only with your consent
Measurement of advertising campaigns and display of relevant ads on other sites.
At present the site loads no marketing script.
First-party and third-party cookies
The strictly necessary entry is set by us and stays exclusively in your browser — it never reaches a server. Analytics and marketing cookies, if you accept them, will be set by the providers listed above and may be used by them according to their own policies.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com,
fonts.gstatic.com). That request transmits your IP address to Google, as any web
request does. The fonts themselves set no cookies.
How to change your choice
At any time, from the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer of every page. You can tick or untick the categories and save again. Rejecting is as simple as accepting, and nothing in analytics or marketing starts before you explicitly press.
How to delete them from your browser
From your browser settings you can delete cookies and site data, or block them entirely:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
If you block everything, your cookie choice can no longer be remembered and the banner will reappear on every visit.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies rely on the legitimate interest of delivering a functional website. Analytics and marketing cookies rely exclusively on your consent, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy), transposed in Romania by Law 506/2004.
Changes
If we change the categories or the providers, we will ask for your consent again. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date above.
